Just Marine was founded to provide quality, unique products to the U.S. sailing and boating markets for consumer and commercial applications. As a division of The Just Group, Inc., the initial product line includes world renowned safety and rescue items from SOS Marine in Australia (www.sosmarine.com), for which Just Marine is the master United States importer. SOS Marine is a significant supplier to navies, coast guards and a wide array of marine groups throughout the Pacific Rim, Europe and the Middle East. Many SOS Marine products have received awards for innovative design. Their products are manufactured to ISO 9001 quality standards which assures they will perform when needed. Just Marine expects to consistently add to its offerings additional products that meet its quality standards.
Just Marine was founded by Philip Thompson. Philip brings a wealth of boating, marine and product design knowledge spanning 50 years. His background insures that only quality products will be supplied. He has been a successful sailor encompassing a full spectrum of sailing and boating. On the small end he competed in world championships in the Laser class and on the larger end skippered America’s Cup contenders for Australia in three campaigns, Steak ‘n Kidney, South Australia, and Challenge Australia.
His marine product experience includes ownership of a marine retail store, general management of a yacht and yacht mast-building company and management with North Sails, Australia. He also founded a recreational supply company which manufactured thousands of recycled plastic lumber products for the golf, park, hotel and outdoor furniture markets. Philip is a member of several yacht clubs and former Commodore of Lido Isle Yacht Club in Newport Beach.
