SOLAS Strobe

Description

This replacement strobe is the same part included in your SOS Marine dan buoy. It is the same strobe used in the coastal life raft, which includes two of these. Every five years replacement is suggested; you can install it yourself.

The strobe is required to flash for at least eight hours. Our experience has shown that the strobe supplied with your danbuoy will work for about 18 hours. Extreme climate and/or approach of end–of–useful–life will diminish performance.

How it Works

When the dan buoy or life raft is thrown into the water, the strobe automatically commences flashing (white). There is a manual on/off switch on the light as well. For complete dan buoy information, including a user manual with servicing instructions, click to the man overboard buoy page.
